PROJECT OVERVIEW:
This project included 4 ‘up-cycled’ life sized (1:1 scale) aquatic endangered sea animals.  Sculptures include one sperm whale named Big Baby, two vaquita porpoises named Donny and Marie and one green sea turtle named Pistachio. These life sized sculptures made their debut at the ‘An Earthly Affair’ show at the South Florida Fair’s 2021 Fair, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day.

These works of art are made of single use plastic waste and fishing nets over a welded armature. We also created the accompanying signage/graphics, wooden platform boxes and animal steel bases. By using up-cycled plastic our aim is to educate Guests about the dangers of plastic pollution in the ocean and waterways. The ocean’s deadliest predator is trash
