NATIONAL BANK OF ARIZONA PARADE FLOAT
PROJECT OVERVIEW
This float was created for the National Bank of Arizona, the title sponsor for the Fiesta Bowl Parade each year. This design was inspired by the beautiful Arizona landscape, with carved mesa styled rockwork. The paint work was airbrushed on to achieve a soft ombre gradation indicative of Arizona landscapes followed by hand painting to give it a weathered look. The palette was inspired by the purple-gray desert mountains at dusk. The hold bars are welded together and attached to the float structure for the float rider’s safety. Printed client’s logo and other marketing collateral were attached to the float in custom carved areas of the rockwork.
Float Repurposing
The following year the client chose to keep the original float design but repaint the rockwork and change some of the printed marketing collateral. The new paint design was inspired by the Grand Canyon illuminated at sunset color palette.
