PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Yakulla Caverns attraction is located in the heart of the Phoenix Zoo. Yakulla is an Incan word that signifies “water spot.” It is an innovative water play experience designed to look like a vast active wet cavern system. It has a splash pad, misting system, two water slides and multiple water features with a play river that surrounds the entire cavern.

Guests enter the cavern one of three ways, either via a water slide, directly through a steadily flowing waterfall entrance or secret entrance across a swinging wooden bridge through the jungle of plants and entrance filled by misting fog. It has a blend of seven realistic cavern formations, eight life size cavern dwelling animals and lots of water play experiences for Guests to learn about and explore.
